Habitat Resort

Located atop a hill, The Habitat Resort carries a language of architecture inspired by the various levels and the natural topography of Rishikesh. The design approach is derived from its context, steep slopes with the beautiful landscapes surrounding the site. volumetric stacking is done to maximize visual connection with the site and its immediate context. In an effort to reflect the topography, volumetric stacking of the building is done to maximize visual connection with the site and its immediate context. The massing of the building is a metaphor for the mountain terrain- stacked and rigid. Rather than letting the building be placed on the natural ground, the building hovers above the ground to let the natural topography flow beneath it, allowing the visitor to connect with the natural landscape at any point.

An ode to the river that flows beneath.
